About the event

Oral Motor Therapy (OMT) – we all know it’s a thing, but do you know how to do it?  Often controversial, over-marketed and over-hyped, OMT holds a vaguely mystical aura about it. Come along to our 2 hour seminar where we do some mythbusting and unpack exactly what OMT is, and what it isn’t. We ask the tough questions, like, what’s evidence based and what’s bull plop? And after all is said and done, what does it actually look like in action?

Holly and Asha will be presenting on:

  • Common oral motor deficits and how they present clinically
  • How to pin-point which functional skills need addressing
  • Practical strategies and therapy activities to target functional skill development
  • Equipment, food and tools that are worth your time and money

From cups to mouth stuffing, if it's got to do with eating or drinking then it will be covered! You will learn skills that you can use straightaway with your clients in therapy the very next day.

This session is suitable for Speech Pathologists who work with a paediatric feeding caseload. Content will focus on children aged from toddlerhood through to adolescence. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a hoy!
