Pressure or Presence? Introduction to Infant Mental Health in Feeding

About our guest presenter:

Olivia Naylor is a Senior Occupational Therapist and Clinical Coordinator (Early Intervention) at Perth Children's Hospital (PCH). She holds a degree in OT, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Parent & Infant Mental Health.

Her current clinical role includes working with babies and their families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and as part of the PCH Allied Health Feeding Team. Olivia has worked predominantly in paediatrics throughout her career with a special interest in neonatal therapy, feeding difficulties, infant mental health, and trauma-informed care.

This 4-hour live session will provide:

1. An introduction to infant mental health.
2. Understanding of how the parent-child relationship provides the base for feeding to develop.
3. Support for practitioners to use an infant-mental health lens to understand and rework mealtime challenges.
4. Case studies and practical examples to translate theory into practice.

The live session will be supplemented with a 30 minute pre-requisite video on infant mental health, available 1 week before the live session.
